There is no substitute for seeing art works and design objects at first hand. Try and go to as many exhibitions as you can, especially if you have travelled somewhere. Most galleries are free to get into, or will have student/young people's discounts.

Keep a look out for new design ideas in shops, on the TV, in newspapers, in magazines and in your house!
