Standard Grade Still Life

Follow these steps to help you get a good result in your Standard Grade:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1

Choose a good composition, including near and far elements.

Step 2

Make a quality drawing, taking care to draw objects in proportion and using foreshortening where appropriate.

Step 3

Outline the drawing with paint. Add a light source and paint in tone.

Step 4

Add colour, choosing a harmonious, warm or cool colour scheme.

Step 5

Check the tone, highlights and colour. Put the drawing back in if necessary.
