standard grade - design + critical

1. Each week you should do at least one hour's worth of quality drawing in your sketchbook to compliment projects you are working on in class, improve your skills and try out new techniques and materials. These sketchbooks will be checked on a regular basis, so bring them to each class.

2. During s3 you will complete your Standard Grade design project.

This consists of 2 A2 sheets:

Sheet 1 - Research and Investigation

Sheet 2 - Development

and a high quality Final Outcome - this can be a 3D model, photographs of models you have made or or well-drawn 2D designs .

This must be complete by the date set by your teacher.

3. You will also write a Standard Grade critical activity essay (circa 1,500 words)

In this essay you must analyse, evaluate, compare and contrast designs by two designers from different styles and periods.

Use the essay guides and tips pages to help you.
